Beyond the Resume

Digital Minimalism and Intentional Connections

Why I Don’t Have a LinkedIn Account

At one point, I had over 1,000 connections on LinkedIn, many of whom I didn’t even know. One evening, after a few drinks, I made the spontaneous decision to delete my LinkedIn account. Research suggests that alcohol sometimes leads to impulsive choices, but for me, this turned out to be one of the best decisions I made. It helped me realize that I value quality over quantity in my connections and that I prefer meaningful relationships over a digital numbers game. Today, I focus on direct, purposeful connections that align with my personal and professional values.

Minimal Use of Social Media

I believe that social media, while designed by some of the brightest minds of our generation, often creates quick dopamine effects that encourage superficial engagement (research proves it too). For me, social media is one of the least fulfilling inventions for fostering real connections. While I have accounts on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, I’m rarely active, and I can’t recall the last time I logged in or posted anything. I avoid social media to focus on real-world experiences, professional growth, and relationships that matter.

This approach extends to my family life. I prefer to keep my kids away from social media or, at the very least, limit their exposure to it. Instead of encouraging the fleeting satisfaction that social media often offers, I’m committed to providing a balanced, mindful digital environment for them.

Digital Content Choices at Home – YouTube and Nintendo

At home, we’ve applied similar principles to digital content management for our kids. Youtube is banned at home. Instead, we encourage Nintendo games, which offer safe, interactive, and family-friendly entertainment that promotes problem-solving and active engagement. This choice aligns with my commitment to intentional and balanced digital use, creating a healthier approach to digital entertainment for our family.

Professional Philosophy and Approach to Learning

I view technology as a lifelong journey where quality, depth, and meaningful solutions matter most. I don’t consider myself perfect, and there’s always more for me to learn. When I encounter something I don’t know, I’m quick to admit it and ready to learn from others—no matter who they are, even if they’re kids. After all, no one can have complete knowledge, but the pursuit of it is what drives growth and innovation. My approach emphasizes humility, continual learning, and staying at the forefront of digital transformation to ensure each project pushes boundaries and drives lasting impact.

Side Gig: Return of Lost Science

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to exploring and reviving ancient knowledge through my personal blog, Return of Lost Science. This platform reflects my passion for delving into the rich heritage of ancient Indian scriptures and philosophies, aiming to uncover and share timeless wisdom that has shaped our civilization.

Exploring the Vedas and Ancient Wisdom

In my blog, I dive into the profound teachings of the Vedas, examining their silent origins and the infinite journey of knowledge they offer. In the article Vedas: The Silent Climax and the Infinite Journey of Knowledge, I explore how the Vedas begin with profound silence—a silent climax that holds the essence of all creation. This exploration invites readers on an infinite journey inward, exploring layers of wisdom that continually circle back to the silent source.

Reviving the Gurukul System

My fascination with ancient knowledge began with a story—a tale of discovery that stretches back to the 18th century. Reflecting on what has been lost, I set out on a journey to recover the ancient knowledge and traditions that were central to our civilization’s Golden Age. This journey is a humble attempt by an ordinary individual seeking raw knowledge and striving to sow seeds of curiosity for others to nurture.

Personal Reflections and Cultural Insights

Through Return of Lost Science, I share personal reflections and cultural insights, aiming to honor our heritage by giving this revival my sincere effort. I believe that true understanding comes from knowing the ultimate truth—the same truth that once led ancient Bharat to flourish so profoundly. For any civilization to reach its peak, its education system must be strong and nurturing, but in our once-flourishing land, that system was fractured by centuries of invasions and exploitation. I aim to rekindle the insights and values that shaped such a powerful heritage.

Engaging with these ancient texts and philosophies not only enriches my personal growth but also enhances my professional perspective, allowing me to approach modern challenges with a deeper understanding of timeless principles.

Closing Thoughts

In both my personal and professional life, I strive for focus, balance, and meaningful impact. My approach to digital minimalism reflects the same principles I bring to my work: deliberate action, depth of knowledge, and a commitment to continual improvement. By embracing a focused, intentional approach, I’m able to create value in the areas that matter most and continue evolving as a professional and as an individual.
